About
My name is Kara Woods and I am an Experienced, Qualified and Professionally Registered Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Mindfulness Teacher and Coach. I practise in-person in North London (N4) and online.
I have particular expertise and experience in working with depression, anxiety, trauma and other stress related issues including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also have a special interest in working with issues of identity, self-esteem, meaning and purpose.

Qualifications and Training
Over the years I have studied and practised a wide variety of psychological, somatic and spiritual approaches to healing and self development. I have completed ten years of formal training and my qualifications include:
Postgraduate Diploma Psychosynthesis Counselling (Distinction) - Middlesex University and The Psychosynthesis Trust.
Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Training (SEP) – European Association for Somatic Experiencing.
Mindfulness Meditation Teaching Training – Bangor Centre for Mindfulness Research & Practice, Bangor University.
Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) – The Coach Training Institute.
